What to expect:

Interior Painting

Prompt Arrival-You can expect our experienced foreman and crews to show up in full uniform at 8:00 a.m. with smiles and ready to tackle your project. A crew will be present everyday until your project is completed.

Protection-Our crews will come in and move all furniture to the center of the room. No need to worry about furniture, we have years of experience moving furniture. All we ask of you is to remove all knick-knacks and irreplaceable items the night before. Our crews will then cover all the furniture with protective plastic. All flooring is covered with canvas drop cloths. Anything else we feel needs protection will be addressed at this time. Next: the most important element of a great paint job, preparation.

Drywall Preparation-Our crews do extensive preparation to you interior walls and ceilings. At this point any major drywall repairs will be performed. Using drywall compound we address nail pops, nail dimples, nail holes and any other blemishes we see in your walls and ceilings.

Caulking and Puttying-Caulking, an important step, is part of our standard preparations. Caulk is used on cracks where any painted surface meets another painted surface, such as where wall meets trim or where trim meets trim. Painters putty will be used to fill any nail holes found in trim.

Sanding-Our diligent crews will sand all drywall compound previously applied to the walls. We take several precautions to keep this process as neat as possible. We will shut doors to rooms we are not working in or put up plastic to adjoining rooms to minimize the spread of dust. Some distribution of dust is inevitable due to airborne dust entering through the cooling and heating system intake vents.Just remember this is a critical step in the painting process and is well worth the effort. Finally, all trim will be lightly sanded for good adhesion of the paint.

Painting-Our crews take care of the last minute preparations and details. We prime any major repairs, water stains, scuff marks, etc. We then dust off all trim and re-check that everything is protected. Ninety percent of the time we will brush and roll your ceiling and walls. Brushing and rolling the walls and ceilings provide a solid and even finish. No tape is used for cutting and rolling; our experienced hands provide sharp and clean lines. Finally all trim will be hand brushed.

Clean up-The last step in the process is clean up. Drop cloths are rolled up and removed. Plastic is carefully folded up and removed as not to disturb dust. Surfaces are checked for dust and the entire room is swept or vacuumed. Furniture is placed back where it belongs and you can now return to your living space.

Exterior Painting

Prompt Arrival-Expect prompt arrival at 8:00 a.m. or earlier. A crew will arrive everyday ready to go until your project is completed. (Weather permitting.)

Protection-Ladder mitts are used on all of our ladders to protect the exterior surfaces of your home. All major landscaping in the proximity will be protected prior to painting. Any other surfaces that need protection will be covered. No painting will be done until your house is prepared for painting from top to bottom.

Wood repairs-A team of carpenters is on staff to address all your carpentry needs. No need to hire a separate company for wood repairs. Areas in need of attention will be identified at the time of the estimate. There are always the hidden variables, but we try to identify problem areas before we start your project. Throughout your project you will be made aware and have control over any issues that arise concerning repairs made to your home.

Caulking-Is a crucial element to an exterior paint job. Without proper caulking the surfaces and siding on your house can be exposed and vulnerable to weather damage, leading to more costly repairs down the road. Even the smallest cracks need to be sealed.

Sanding-Sanding the trim of your house is critical. Paint is a very thin film and needs proper adhesion to be effective. All trim will be lightly sanded with medium to coarse sandpaper to ensure a lasting paint job.

Scraping and priming-A must whenever painting the exterior is scraping and priming. Loose paint must be scraped diligently to halt peeling paint. The edges of scraped areas will be sanded down and a quality primer will be applied to bare surfaces.

Painting-All siding and wide-open surfaces in most cases with be brushed and rolled. At All American Painting Plus we find that this technique really works the paint into the surface as opposed to spraying. This technique also provides an even and lasting sheen. All trim is hand brushed by our painting professionals. All jobs are looked over at the end to make sure nothing was missed.

Clean up-Equipment and trash are cleaned up on a daily basis. At the end of the job all paint chips will be cleaned up to the best of our ability. Horizontal or ground surfaces (concrete, driveway, decks, etc.) are checked over for any unforeseen paint splatters and are swept daily (as necessary) and again at the closure of the project. Trash is hauled away.
