How to prepare your photos & measurements
To help our estimators give you the most accurate pre-estimate possible, follow these simple steps when taking photos and collecting room details.
How to photograph each room
- Take wide shots from each corner so we can see the whole room.
- Hold your phone horizontally and avoid zoom.
- Include ceiling and floor in at least one photo.
- Use natural light or turn on room lights to avoid dark images.
What details to include
- Close-ups of damage, cracks, stains or textured surfaces.
- Photos of trim, baseboards, door frames and windows (full frame).
- Notes about ceilings (vaulted, high, beams) or special areas.
How to measure
- Measure length and width of each wall (feet or meters).
- Measure ceiling height.
- Count doors and windows and note their locations.
What not to do
- Do not send only close-ups with no room context.
- Avoid dark, blurry, or obstructed photos (furniture blocking walls).
